Classica Viva
wishes to publish, with a
qualitative criteria and as largely as possibly TO GIVE A VOICE TO THOSE WHO
DON’T HAVE ONE.
It wishes to sell at
accessible and honest prices and so make it inconvenient to copy illegally. The
legal copying also makes the culture accessible for everyone and especially
the young.
For this reason our
Publishing House DOES NOT ASK FOR ANY FEES FROM THE AUTHORS. Too many publishing
houses, even digital ones ask for payment just to examine the text or recording,
or even worse ask for payment to publish them ( even to correct the copy!!!).
Our editorial policy is
simple: whoever is interested in publishing with us has to simply contact us. We
will send a password to enter the area reserved for “Partners”. There you
will find an example of a contract to download and examine in your own time
(Italian language). Then you
can send your composition, in digital form. The Editorial directors – direzione.editoriale@classicaviva.com
will examine the sent work and decide whether to publish it or not. We may
possibly make some editorial suggestions for improvements. The Publishing House
will take care of the whole process of production, publication and PROMOTION of
the work. All the authors will receive the author’s rights
which will vary from 25 to 40% of the agreed selling price to the public.
Now let's go in deep details
about our editorial policy.
Our decision – to publish
everything and exclusively in digital is a response to a clear and analytical
view of the world.
The current digital
revolution allows today for a profound revolution of the editorial process both
for the publication and the distribution.
For the first time it is
possible for an editor to publish every type of text or score or musical
recording and to distribute it directly to the public, thus avoiding the costly
and obsolete process of printing, warehousing and distributing.
Our digital shop is open 24
hours a day and all over the world.
This opens until now
unimaginable possibilities to an independent editor, who really wishes to
promote the culture and does not just have to make a profit as a primary
objective.
This makes it possible to
lower the costs of production and therefore publish the works that until now
remained tucked away in a drawer in the Publishing House because it was a niche
market or not easily marketable. In a word, only the works that promised - in a
business plan - to sell sufficient copies to cover their costs and make a profit
were produced and marketed.
The same (and more) can be
said for classical music. For many years The Italian musical Publishing Houses
have been suffering from a financial crisis which has reduce the publication to
a minimum. Today, for a young musician, it
is a dream to make a recording. Naturally the less recordings produced the less
sold. In fact there are very few shops specializing in classical music.
But
let’s talk more about the E-Books...
